16th August 2026 – Last night’s inaugural 2026 Greater Hobart Small Business Excellence Awards was a tremendous success and a wonderful celebration of our local business community.

29th July 2026 – As Chair of Business Greater Hobart, I was proud to officially launch the inaugural 2026 Greater Hobart Small Business Excellence Awards. The launch at Florage Tasmania brought together finalists, sponsors and Business Greater Hobart representatives ahead of the awards ceremony next month.
Choir of High Hopes at Festival of Voices 2026
10th July 2026 – Over the past two weeks, I had the pleasure of performing with the Choir of High Hopes Hobart as part of the 2026 Festival of Voices. We took part in three pop-up performances at Hobart City Mission, Hobart Library and St David’s Cathedral.

A Community Vision for St David’s Park
27th June 2026 – St David’s Park is one of Hobart’s most beautiful and historic public spaces. I believe there is now an opportunity to look at how one corner of St David’s Park could be better used while still protecting the park’s heritage, trees and green character.

19th June 2026 – Last night I had the pleasure of hosting Business Greater Hobart’s June networking event, bringing together local business owners, professionals and community leaders from across Greater Hobart.
Paint the Town Red: Hobart’s Winter Spirit on Display
8th June 2026 – As Dark Mofo returns to Hobart, so too does one of the festival’s most recognisable traditions – Paint the Town Red. From glowing shopfronts and illuminated landmarks to themed displays and creative installations, the campaign encourages businesses, residents and community groups to embrace the festival atmosphere.
Winter appeals are underway in Hobart
6th June 2026 – As winter sets in across Hobart, a number of local charities are launching their annual appeals to support people doing it tough. The Hobart City Mission Winter Appeal and the Vinnies Winter Appeal are reporting growing demand for help with housing, food, power bills and other essentials.
Sustainability and Small Business in Focus
22nd May 2026 – Great to host another successful Business Greater Hobart networking event last night alongside Tom Miller from Florage Tasmania, with another strong turnout of local business owners and professionals from across Greater Hobart.
Billy’s Burgers closure marks end of a waterfront favourite
9th April 2026 – Waterfront change part of a fresh new chapter. Billy’s Burgers and Bar on Elizabeth Street Pier will close on 3 May as part of the ongoing redevelopment of the waterfront precinct.
Owner Leo Miller has confirmed the popular venue will finish up after several years of trading on the pier, following the earlier closure of neighbouring venue T42 as the site prepares for major upgrades.
Community connections only make us stronger across Hobart
19th March 2026 – Hobart has always been a city built on community. It’s something visitors notice quickly. Walk through Salamanca on a Saturday morning, attend a local event or spend time at one of our many festivals and you’ll feel the strong sense of community that exists here.
Red Connect Tasmania – Local Stories Sparking Action
1st March 2026 – It was a privilege to be part of the panel at the Red Cross event, Red Connect Tasmania – Local Stories Sparking Action at the Moonah Arts Centre. I really valued the opportunity to share the story of Choir of High Hopes Hobart and reflect on how something as simple as singing together can create powerful social connections.

Rotary Bunnings Sausage Sizzle
2nd November – This afternoon I was at Bunnings Kingston volunteering at a sausage sizzle raising money for Rotary Salamanca Sunrise. I really enjoyed being involved in the event and helping out alongside other volunteers. It was great to meet members of the community, have a chat about the work we do in Rotary and see so many people happy to support a good cause.
