I want Hobart to be a confident, connected and well run city, a city that supports its people, values its local businesses and makes the most of its opportunities.
Hobart should be safe, welcoming and easy to move around, with a greater choice of housing so more people can afford to live close to work, services and their community. As our city grows, we must respect its heritage and ensure infrastructure and services keep pace.
Council should deliver reliable services, manage ratepayer money responsibly and make timely, practical decisions.
With more than 20 years of small-business experience and years of community advocacy, I will bring practical judgement, local knowledge and respectful leadership to the Council.
Get the basics right
Council’s first responsibility is to deliver the everyday services residents and businesses rely on.
Well-maintained footpaths, clean streets, reliable waste collection and appropriate lighting all make a difference to everyday life in Hobart.
Council’s first responsibility is to deliver the services residents and businesses rely on, and do them well.
I will focus on maintaining our roads, footpaths and public spaces, alongside responsive customer service. When someone raises a problem with Council, they should receive a clear response and know what happens next.
Support more homes in Hobart
Hobart needs a greater choice of housing so more people can afford to live close to work, services and their community.
More people should have the opportunity to live close to work, services and their community.
Hobart needs a greater choice of housing. I will support well-designed homes in suitable locations, encourage the conversion of underused city buildings into housing and advocate for timely, transparent planning decisions.
More people living in our city centre can also support local shops, hospitality and a more active city.
As Hobart grows, we must respect its heritage and ensure infrastructure, services and public spaces meet the needs of both new and existing residents.
Support local businesses and jobs
A strong local economy provides jobs, supports families and helps fund the services our community needs.
Behind every local business are people working hard, supporting their families and creating opportunities for others.
Having operated a small business in Hobart for more than 20 years, I understand how Council decisions affect the people who invest in our city and employ local workers.
I will champion small businesses, encourage investment and support a vibrant day and night-time economy.
That includes working to make Council approvals more timely, transparent and predictable, so businesses can plan with confidence.
A strong local economy benefits our whole community.
Improve traffic flow, parking and access
Hobart needs a transport network that works for residents, workers, businesses, customers and visitors.
Whether you are heading to work, visiting a local shop, making a delivery or attending an appointment, getting around Hobart should be easier and safer.
I will support practical, evidence-based decisions that improve traffic flow, maintain access to parking and consider everyone who uses our streets.
Changes must account for their real-world impact on residents, businesses, people with disability, deliveries and emergency services.
That means listening to the people affected, assessing the results and being prepared to adjust when something is not working.
Hobart needs a transport network that supports everyday life.
Spend ratepayer money responsibly
Every Council dollar comes from the community and must be treated with care.
Ratepayers deserve to know their money is being spent carefully and delivering a clear public benefit.
I will scrutinise Council spending, demand value for money and prioritise essential services and practical community needs.
Before supporting a project, I will ask: What problem does it solve? What will it cost to deliver and maintain? Does the benefit justify the expense?
Responsible financial management means making considered choices and being accountable for them.
My focus will be on looking after the services and infrastructure our community relies on, while keeping affordability firmly in view.
Create a safer and more welcoming city
Hobart’s parks, streets and public spaces should bring people together and make our city a better place to live.
Everyone should feel welcome in Hobart—whether they are walking home from work, visiting a park or spending time in the city.
I will support safer streets, stronger neighbourhoods and the community organisations that help people connect and belong.
Our parks and public spaces also deserve attention. I want to explore opportunities to improve St David’s Park for community use and events, while respecting its character and heritage.
Through my involvement in local business and community organisations, I have seen how much people contribute to Hobart.
Council should support that work and help make our city safer, more welcoming and more connected.
