25th May 2026 – The former Tasmania Police headquarters on Liverpool Street could be transformed into 17 apartments and a ground-floor cafe under a new $5 million proposal currently before Hobart City Council. Billy’s Burgers closure marks end of a waterfront favourite
9th April 2026 – Waterfront change part of a fresh new chapter. Billy’s Burgers and Bar on Elizabeth Street Pier will close on 3 May as part of the ongoing redevelopment of the waterfront precinct.
Owner Leo Miller has confirmed the popular venue will finish up after several years of trading on the pier, following the earlier closure of neighbouring venue T42 as the site prepares for major upgrades.
